DJI RSC 2 Handheld Gimbal Overview
The DJI RSC 2 Handheld Gimbal is a compact and lightweight 3-axis handheld gimbal, and the successor to the Ronin SC. The DJI RSC 2, or Ronin SC 2, is a motorised gimbal designed to stabilise video on small DSLR, mirrorless cameras or compact camcorders under 3kg, one kg more than its predecessor.
Besides the improved load capacity, the RCS 2 now folds down from the handle, so users can use it underslung for low-angle shots, without having to attach or detach anything. The 50% stronger motors combined with DJI’s Titan stabilisation algorithm captures even more smooth and stable footage, and for even better results a SuperSmooth mode compensates for micro-movements and increases torque, providing exceptional stability, even when using 100mm telephoto lenses.
The DJI Ronin SC 2 also features a 1″ OLED black-and-white screen for gimbal settings and status, and has a horizontal dial on the front for focus adjustments with the same hand you hold the gimbal with.
On each side of the gimbal handle is a NATO mount with M4 threads for attaching dedicated accessories such as an optional briefcase handle.
Professional 3-axis stabilisation
The RSC 2 provides smooth and progressive stabilisation on 3 axes: pan, tilt, and roll. The stabilisation is done by strong motors and electronic speed controllers that actively compensates for any high frequency movement, giving you smooth and professional looking video.
3kg Payload and stable with telephoto lenses
The RSC2 features a maximum payload of 3kg. This enables the gimbal to support small to medium DSLR kits, mirrorless cameras and camcorders. Additionally the improved load capacity and algorithms can now provide stable video even on a 100mm telephoto zoom/prime lens.
With the optional RavenEye users can use DJI’s ActiveTrack 3.0 to provide unmatched subject tracking for Ronin-SC2. As the smartphone tracks the subject, we combine its field-of-view (FOV) data with the Ronin app, creating a unique head-and-shoulder model. Using precise computer vision to detect everything in its field of view, ActiveTrack employs deep learning to sharpen its ability to analyze an object after every encounter, gaining the ability to process it faster over time. The use of this artificial intelligence in gimbal technology is a facet where DJI stands alone in the gimbal industry. When using ActiveTrack to maintain a cinematically composed shot of your subject, you are taking advantage of technology that no other professional gimbal can deliver.
Manual focus dail
When a compatible camera system connects to the RSC 2, users can easily pull focus with the same hand as they are holding the gimbal. An optional external motor can also be added, bringing broader compatibility to all lens types while enhancing precision control.
14-hour battery life and 2 hour charge time
With DJI’s new battery the RSC 2 now has a battery life of up to 14 hours and can charge from empty to full in hours thanks to support for 18W fast charging
