The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4 IS PRO is a 600mm equivalent fixed telephoto lens for MFT cameras. The lens features in-lens image stabilisation, a fast f/4 aperture and special elements to help ensure sharp images.When combined with the MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter, the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4 IS PRO can be used as an 840mm equivalent super-telephoto lens.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4 IS PRO is the first Olympus interchangeable lens to be equipped with in-lens IS (image stabilisation). Combining in-lens IS and in-body 5-axis IS (on select Olympus cameras), 5-axis Sync IS achieves powerful image stabilisation, equivalent to 6 shutter speed steps. This makes previously difficult hand-held super-telephoto shooting possible.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4 IS PRO lens achieves Olympus’s best-ever resolution by including 3 Super ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses, an HR (high-refractive) lens and an E-HR (Extra-High Refractive) lens for correcting colour bleeding and aberrations that tend to occur when using telephoto lenses. Additionally, a Z Coating Nano, significantly reduces ghosts and flares for sharp, clear image quality.
High-precision, thin lens fabrication technology makes the focus lens element lightweight. This contributes to the high-speed, high-precision lens drive and the overall small package. When combined with the OM-D E-M1, high-speed AF of 400 ms or less is possible. The lens also features a MF clutch mechanism and a focus limit switch.
